On October 16, 2025, a representative of the company partner in the NATO SPS G6128 project “Self-healing and self-lubricating nanocomposites for atmosphere/vacuum bearings” from Ukraine — Minerals Lab LLC, one of the main shareholder Sergii Mazhuga — visited the Institute for Problems of Materials Science (IPMS).
A meeting was held with the Deputy Director of IPMS and the Ukrainian project manager (PPD), Dr. Ostap Zgalat-Lozynskyi. During the meeting, the progress of the project and the results obtained were discussed. Dr. Ostap Zgalat-Lozynskyi demonstrated balls made of a silicon nitride–based composite for ceramic and hybrid bearings.
Serhiy Mazhuga also familiarized himself with the IPMS’s capabilities for the synthesis and sintering of ceramic materials, as well as with the new equipment — a VASCO particle size distribution analyzer — purchased as part of the project.
The parties discussed the further implementation plan of the project (SPS G6128) and the prospects for applying its results.
